20 GOALS FOR 2020 (+ A 2019 REFLECTION)

After recently completing a post in an Instagram challenge by Alo Yoga, I have realised how truly important social media is in keeping me accountable to my goals. As an ode to this, I thought it apt to write mine for 2020.

The year 2020 seems to come out of nowhere. Reflecting on 2019, so much happened, and I can’t even imagine where I’ll be this time next year. There is a weird thing when a new year starts, that you expect dramatic changes in your life. However, coming into 2020 – it was looking like nothing was going to change. On the last day of December, I quit the job I just started (and was not enjoying), in order to come into the new year with a more positive outlook. To my delight, it has worked. It’s looking like 2020 will be a year of changes – big and small, but all miraculous. A new decade, a new start.

That being said, I am so grateful for 2019. The year 2019 brought my 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga training and my 30-hour Yin training with Powerliving in Sydney, a trip to Bali, a lot of people yelling at me in retail causing the “no shit jobs” mantra that follows me in life. It brought new love, an engagement, a new place to call home in London. My mum got a dog, my brother got a bearded dragon. I went to India by myself for seven weeks for my 300-hour training with Gyan Yog, I did my first yoga retreat with Anantadrishti. Overall, 2019 was an amazing year.

For 2020, I want to achieve so much. All of my yoga training has brought so much direction and it demands public accountability. I don’t want to lose this momentum, this drive. I hope you all enjoy and please let me know your goals too. We can keep each other accountable, keep each other strong and keep each other motivated. I know I’ll do it if you do it too.

And so, without further ado, here are my 20 goals for 2020:

  1. Be happy

  2. Find time for asana, pranayama, and meditation daily

  3. Put myself first

  4. Read more books

  5. Stick to a schedule

  6. Take more time to love

  7. See more of London

  8. See more of the world

  9. Travel more, work less

  10. Healthy body, healthy mind

  11. Find consistency

  12. Set a date for the wedding in 2021

  13. Release my first E-book (and my second E-book)

  14. Launch my Youtube channel (check in with me on January 6th!)

  15. Write up my notes from my 300 hour YTT

  16. Watch less TV

  17. Spend more time in nature (despite the cold)

  18. Call my family each week

  19. Study more

  20. Have 50% passive income by 2021!
